Join Andy Kirtland, Artistic Director and Co-Founder of The New Renaissance Theatre Company (and Britsburgh Board Member) for a pre-show discussion of The Unrehearsed Cue Script Technique, the historically informed practice the company uses to produce its Unrehearsed Shakespeare Project.Hear about the why's and wherefore's of this technique before watching it in action in The Tragedie of Othello, the Moore of Venice.
Meet in Bayne Park by The Andrew Bayne Library at 5pm. While the cast is preparing for the show, Andy will discuss the history of the Unrehearsed Cue Script Technique. How might Shakespeare and his contemporaries prepared for a performance? Why try to replicate it now? How does this approach affect the performers and the audience? At 6pm, sit back and enjoy the free show!
