Join Britsburghers for a social evening starting with tapping the The Tony Knipling Keg. Be the first to raise a glass of the 2023 edition of Britsburgh Ale, which this year will be special Ale brewed in celebration of the Coronation of his Majesty King Charles III. The Coronation Ale is Scotch Ale, recognizing the strong connections the King has with Scotland. This will be a brew that leans malt forward with background notes of caramel, biscuit, and toasted bread. The base malt will be UK grown and malted maris otter pale. Maltiness for this will be backed by UK grown fuggle hops, present, but surely dominated by malt complexity. A three hour boil will produce more caramelization in the kettle.
The brewpub's in-house kitchen, East End Brewing, will be cranking out thick-crust Sicilian style pizza and other perfect-with-beer items to enjoy, as well. There's seating indoors and also outside in the beer garden, and there will also be some Britsburgh merch for sale at this event.
The Tony Knipling Cask is so named for Pittsburgh's late patron saint of craft beer, who played an enormous role in the founding of Britsburgh's Beer Society. We raise a glass to the memory of our late friend Tony Knipling.
